New year in France

みなさま明けましておめでとうございます。
またまたおふたりの御節がおいしそうで見入ってしまいました。
Sayakaちゃんの言うように、日本のお正月は本当に素敵ですよね。
大掃除や御節の準備にしてもしかり、大晦日から新年を迎えるためのいろいろが
いつもと違った雰囲気になってお正月が特別になるのですよね。
年賀状もいいですね、義務になっているところもあるけれど年に一度の楽しみでもあると思います。

こちらフランスでは、新年は友人とパーティなどしてわいわい迎えますが
翌日には仕事という人も少なくないためすぐに日常に戻ってしまいます。

Wow Osechi that Ulala and Sayaka made look really nice and gorgeous!!
As Sayaka said the japanese new year is great.
I think it is very important for japanese people. We prepare many things for the new year from the last days of the yea then we greet the New year with special feelings.
It is good the New year's cards as well. It is a little annoying preparing them but I am happy when I get them from my friends or anyone!

Here in France, we have a party and greet the New year with friends. It is fun but next day, many people go back to work so it will be back to normal life quickly.

そういったわけで、お正月気分を味わうことはなかなか難しいのですが・・・
フランスでは1月6日の公現祭に食べるgalette des roisという伝統のお菓子があるのですが、これが年を越すとすぐにパン屋さんに並びます。
中にはフェーブと呼ばれる陶製の小人形が入っていて、みんなで切り分けて食べたときにフェーブに当たった人が王様となりその日の主役になります。
おみくじのようなちょっとした運試しというか、これを食べないと新年が始まらないと感じる人も多いのではないかなと思い日本の御節に変わるこちらを紹介したいと思います。

外はパイ、中はアーモンドクリームまたはフランジパーヌが入っています。
パイ生地を買えば簡単に出来るので私は手作りしています。
写真はsalon de théで食べたこの時期限定galette des roisのセット。
家で食べると大人でもパイ生地がとび散って後片付けが大変ですが、とてもおいしいお菓子です。
日本にいるときは知らなかったのですが、さすが日本、今では結構知れわたっているようなので
食べたことがある方も多いかもしれませんね。


Galette des rois is the cake we have at 6th of january (Epiphany's day).
We can see it after the New year at the bakery.
There is a little ceramic stuff in it and when you have galette des rois with others, if you got it then you are going to be the king! This is like Omikuji (the fortune) in Japan and many people want to have this cake for good new year starting, i guess.

pie outside, almond cream or frangipane inside, if you buy some pie sheets then it is easy to make it.
I didn't know this cake when i was in Japan but nowadays this is really known in Japan,too so maybe you've already had it. But if you never taste it, just try! Though I don't know there is it in NY.......hehe.
